Things We Love: Fabulous Finds

Sparkly, Pretty Mermaid Treasure

Some of these items are things you can actually buy or commission from other sources, and others, like the million dollar hat, are just to dream about.

Shelley's South Shore Jewelry
Shelley's Mermaid Brooch

If you love beautiful, sparkly, vintage style jewelry -- and what mermaid doesn't? -- check out Shelley's Etsy store. Not only is she a true artist, her prices are reasonable and her workmanship is superb.

A fantastic place to shop for a gift for yourself, or a special friend.

I purchased this mermaid brooch, and it is every bit as lovely as in this photo from her shop.

For A Mermaid Royal Wedding
Deep Blue Sea Hat

The Deep Blue Sea Hat

Australian master milliner AnnMaree Willett created this wildly imaginative "wearable sculpture" several years ago for an invitational show at the Corso Como design centre in Milan.

The Deep Blue Sea Hat is AnnMaree's interpretation of the Great Barrier Reef, fashioned from wool felt, feathers, and 27 or so precious opals.

Reputed to be the most valuable hat ever offered at auction, it's truly a one-of-a-kind stunner. Read more on Wiki.

Goodwill Treasures
Goodwill Seashell Dish

One of my more glamorous Pisces pals, Jill, turned me on to Goodwill shopping some years back. I found this seashell dish for three dollars and starfish earrings for a buck fifty on a recent trip. You never know what you'll find there; it pays to stop by frequently.

Hand-dyed Ribbons
Hand-dyed ribbons

These exquisite hand-dyed ribbons come from another favorite Etsy shop, Abbie & Ellie Originalz.

The inspiration for these color palettes come from many places, but I was drawn right away to the soft blues and sand colors of the ones named Mermaid, River Rocks, and Shoreline.

It was difficult to decide, but in the end I bought River Rock, Fuschia Rose and Painted Canyon, pictured here.

Beach Glass Jewely
Beach Glass Pendant

Are there mermaids in Lake Erie? There ought to be. Beach Glass Shop Lake Erie Shores makes very modern, elegant jewelry is soft sea colors that any modern mermaid would love.

I haven't purchased from this shop yet, but it's definitely on my wish list.

Seashell Furniture
Sea Shell Chest

If you were fixing up your guest room for a visiting mermaid and had some clams to spend, my guess is this lovely seashell chest would make her feel right at home.

You can check it out at Bea's Sea Shell Designs.

Sparkle Plenty
Bejeweled Bridal Bouquet

Sparkle Plenty

If I ever marry again, and find an extra $500 or so for "something sparkly," what could be better than this Wedding Brooch Bouquet from Letters4Lilly's Etsy shop?

Dear Letters4Lilly, I think you're an artistic genius. I was also very taken with your beautiful Something (Tiffany) Blue Button Bouquet. I can definitely picture this at a mermaid wedding.
